Guido O. Perez
Dr. Perez combines a long medical career and study of the human organism with broad readings and inquiry into the workings of human nature, our inquiring minds, our existential questions. Why do humans ask why? What drives us to want life to have a purpose and a meaning? Where should we look for any such overarching messages, and can such questions be addressed in a rational way, rather than taking “on faith” something that other people tell us? Dedicated to teaching and to the pursuit of knowledge, the author has held faculty positions at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, University of Connecticut School of Medicine and the University of Miami School of Medicine. He has published many scientific articles in peer-reviewed medical journals and has written chapters in several standard textbooks of nephrology. Currently, he is Emeritus Professor of Medicine at the University of Miami School of Medicine.
